Create Accurate Vector Building Footprints at Scale with Machine Learning

Imagine processing huge amounts of imaging in an accurate and rapid manner. Ecopia Tech is a geospatial big data analytics service that helps customers derive new insights by transforming Earth imagery into vector feature maps. Their proprietary technology uses the latest in remote sensing techniques and machine learning algorithms to automate feature extraction.

The Ecopia system extracts any feature discernible by the human eye, with specialization in accurate, large-scale building footprint extraction. The Ecopia team extracts 15 million building footprints a month, and their customers, partners and resellers combine this information with their own unique data sets to create robust, continent-wide derivative products.

Exploration Remote Sensing: What Every Geologist Needs to Know About Technology and Trends for 2017

The webinar will showcase highlights of geological remote sensing as applied to mineral exploration with a focus on latest resource satellites including the American DigitalGlobe WorldView-3 platform. WorldView-3 satellite data represents the most significant advance in geological remote sensing and is the clear successor to Landsat and ASTER for exploration, mining, petroleum and related environmental applications.

Available commercially for just over a year, WorldView-3 measures 17 spectral bands with pixel sizes ranging from 30cm to 7.5m and creates an opportunity to search the globe for what the previous resource satellites have missed. Exploration Mapping Group will show a variety of applications for base and precious metals exploration, mining and environmental applications.

Precise Ortho Imagery as the Source for Authoritative Airport Mapping

As the aviation industry moves from paper maps and charts to the digital cockpit and electronic flight bag, producers of these products need current and accurate data to ensure flight safety. FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) and other international aviation authorities require certified suppliers to follow a defined protocol to produce authoritative map data for the aerodrome. Typical airport maps have been produced to meet 5 m accuracy requirements by way of satellite imagery. The new digital aviation world is moving to 1 m accuracy maps to provide better situational awareness on the aerodrome. The commercial availability of 0.3 m - 0.5 m satellite imagery combined with accurate ground control is enabling the production of avionics certified .85 m orthophotos of airports around the globe. The value of high accuracy, up to date, authoritative imagery and attribute rich vector maps is realized by aviators, avionics integrators and airport operations alike. CompassData maintains an archive of over 500 airports as source data to support producers of 1 m certified Aerodrome Mapping Database (AMDB) critical to flight safety and automated situational awareness. CompassData is a DO200A certified supplier of authoritative orthoimagery. Register to attend and learn how to utilize current airport imagery to build digital aviation mapping products and the fundamental value to aviators, integrators and airport operators.
