Google has overlaid the most recent DigitalGlobe imagery (taken on June 28) into Google’s Crisis Maps using a layer called “Satellite imagery (June 28)” so affected citizens can check on the current status of their neighborhoods and homes. DigitalGlobe satellites have been tasked to monitor the area since the fires broke out. DigitalGlobe and Google are enabling first responders on the ground and people whose homes may be threatened to get an updated look at the area.
