Comprehensive aerial imagery
With over 37 million km2 of 3 inch to 2 foot resolution color imagery of select American and international markets, DigitalGlobe’s Orthorectified Aerial Imagery is part of our complete offering of current high-resolution aerial and satellite imagery and the largest library of high-resolution earth imagery available anywhere. In addition to the largest library of aerial imagery available, we maintain a complete, highly accurate USA basemap at 1 meter resolution or better, with major cities at 6 in to 2 ft resolution.
Planned collection
In cooperation with our global network of content partners, we acquire digital imagery for over 100 cities per year in the US and abroad, and we will continue to acquire urban metro areas with 6 in resolution or higher aerial images whenever possible.
Expert processing
We guide every image that we capture through multiple stages of processing to ensure the clearest, most accurate product possible. For each area, we target the desired resolution – from 3 in to 1 ft – then apply several sources of reference data to achieve an accuracy of within 2 to 5 m at CE90. Throughout this process, we radiometrically balance the multiple images to create a visually seamless product. Our final color processing step is what distinguishes our imagery in the marketplace. Our professional graphic artists apply enhancements through graphics software and manually to enhance the mosaic. The result is an accurate, clear and vivid presentation of your target area.
Strategic library
Our strategy is to augment our ImageLibrary with relevant content based on the needs expressed by our customers and partners. This means you will have the most complete collection of high quality imagery when you need it. Our ImageLibrary currently contains over 37 million km2 of aerial imagery of our planet. Many areas contain multiple layers of images spanning over 10 years, which can provide you with insights that are only achieved by looking back in time.
Versatile delivery
In addition to acquiring high-quality imagery, we provide easy access to our combination of aerial and satellite imagery, geographic maps and real property information through a line of desktop software, GIS software plug-ins and web-based search and delivery applications.
Desktop software
ImageConnect™ provides immediate online access to high resolution aerial and satellite imagery of the US, Europe and metropolitan areas worldwide, delivered directly to GIS Mapping software on the desktop. ImageConnect allows an end user to access high resolution imagery stored in DigitalGlobe's content library with georeferenced data by date, map scale or imagery source.
Web services and applications
ImageAtlas™ is a web based imagery browser that lets customers view our extensive catalog of imagery, download individual georeferenced files, or order large format high resolution prints. This application can be co-branded and made available to 3rd parties. In addition, it provides an interface to allow direct links from address searches, property listings and so on.
ImageBuilder™ provides comprehensive developer toolkits and application programming interfaces (APIs) that let users build custom aerial, satellite and map viewing capabilities into any internet aware device or application.
